In the grid in the video the instruments are lined up. And for every instrument a new dot pops up exactly as the instrument plays it´s particular rhythm. That way you can hear and see at the same time exactly what that instrument play. Then the particular instruments rhythm is played together with the other instruments. This at the same time as the dots pop up again to indicate when the instrument plays!
Thereafter clips of how each rhythm is played on each instrument, and variations of it, are shown. Here you can also see for example; where to hit the congas, how to hold the clave, different piano patterns, where to hit the timbales etc, etc..
The rhythms are also shown in 3-2 clave! And good advices about instrument´s rhythms are also given. The point of the video is not to be fancy, so the layout is very basic, but rather to, as simply as possible, get you to quickly grasp every rhythm.
The video is in common video format and can be seen in any normal media player like “Windows Media Player” and alike. The author behind the video has himself taught many people how to play latin rhythms and had salsa groups himself.
